TradeJournalWP is a WordPress plugin that lets traders keep a structured trading journal directly inside their own site, instead of relying on a third-party platform or a scattered set of spreadsheets — built specifically around NinjaTrader users, with automated CSV import, screenshot attachment through WordPress’s native media library, and structured fields for instruments, entries, exits, and P&L.
What we built:
- Subscription-based WordPress storefront — a real e-commerce site selling the plugin directly, not a third-party marketplace listing
- Stripe billing tiers — a clear free-to-Pro pricing structure with recurring billing
- License key automation — keys issued automatically at purchase, no manual fulfillment
- Customer dashboard — a frontend dashboard showing live trading statistics and journal tables via shortcodes, so a prospective buyer can see exactly what their own site would look like running the plugin
Selling a plugin means the site itself has to double as the product’s own best demonstration: the subscription storefront we built includes a live customer dashboard showing real trading statistics and journal tables, so a prospective buyer can see exactly what their own site would look like running the plugin before ever installing it.
The free-to-Pro model needed a clear, automatically-enforced line between core journaling functionality and the paid tier’s advanced analytics, cross-site data portability, and multi-account management — handled through Stripe billing tiers and automated license-key issuance, so the commerce and access-control layers stay in sync without manual work on TradeJournalWP’s end.
